    Ok quick update.
I just checked my other website which isn’t connected to CDN, and it turns out that I’m having the same problem there.
The only images included in the sitemap are the one in the blog posts, total number of

And this is the result of trying to fetch some of the pages, today.

Today I tried something different to resolve the issue of not complete content being served to Google, and indexed, as there isn’t any respond here.
I have generated two sitemaps with screemingfrog. one for the pages and one for the images. The best thing is that screemingfrog also have an option for CDN linking, when generating the map. And I disable the XTML map option of Yoast, as it’s not generating map containing all the important bits.
Now I will just wait to see Google’s respond.

It’s not Yoast’s plugin, it’s your theme. As far as I know, Yoast’s sitemap counts images that are inside a page. If there are no images in the source code, there are no images in the sitemap.

Look at the source code of your gallery page:
    https://mirchev-weddingphotography.co.uk/wedding-photography/

It has no images, the gallery is loads them with some javascript code into the browser. The problem is, Google will not see those images.

In Search Console, go to Fetch as Google page and type in one of your galleries. You will see exactly what Googlebot sees, which my guess is, has no images in the source code.

I tried using https://www.seo-browser.com/ to view you galleries, and I don’t see images. “Fetch as Google” will be more accurate.

This is why your blog posts show up with images in sitemaps, images are inside your source code for each post.

FYI, if you’re using MAXCDN, you don’t need Jetpack’s Photon service. They’re both CDNs, so pick one. If you paid for MAXCDN, go with that one and disable Photon.

Hi Viktor and thank you very much for contributing to the issue.
Yes, after digging over the web I came to the sort of conclusin that it can be something related to my theme’s design, I have open a ticked with the support guys but someone will reply on Monday, the earlier.
The strange thing is that, when generating sitemap with screemengfrog or https://www.sitemapdoc.com/ all my images are included in this site maps but the one that belong to the blog category, is’n it strange?

I see that the sitemap you generated is for a different website, that’s a different theme from the wedding photo website. It looks like this theme includes images in the source code.

    Hi Viktor,
Yes includes but when sitemap is generated by spider like screamingfrog outside WP.
I also was asked, by my theme support, to switch to another theme. So I did and Yoast still produced a site map without images. The thing is that I have tried several other plugins, on my other website, and they produced the same result, sitemap without images. So I’m not sure if it is the WP or the plugins.

I think it what happens is WP plugins generate a sitemap before everything is loaded, missing anything that might be generated by javascript inside the browser. Third-party generators scan page after it’s loaded, so they might be able to “see” those images loaded.

The problem is, even if you have image sitemap for Google, there will be no associated pages in the index according to Googlebot because it cannot “see” your images. At least that’s what it looks like if you’re try Googlebot simulator.

Did you try using “Fetch as Google” to see if Googlebot is able to see your images on a gallery page?

Hi Viktor, here are some thoughts on the issue, derived from observation:
I disable my CDN as well, but noticed something else, the same thing is happening with my two websites, which are based on different theme.
I even changed my Caching plugin to wp rocket, any way what I did was to uninstall Yoast on my wedding photography website and install All in one SEO, and I generated sitemap with the late plugin. And the same thing happened. I have all my images that belong to the blog posts included, as images, in my sitemap, this is the same for my other website where I still use Yoast. The rest of the images are indexed as attachments, to me it seems like the problem may be occurred because of an update in WP which messed up with the themes modules, like galleries etc. or something along this lines.
As I said I have two website based on different theme, even the wedding one I never had it connected to CDN, and they both have the same issue.
Here are my site maps for some examples.
    https://mirchevphotography.com/post-sitemap.xml
    https://mirchev-weddingphotography.co.uk/sitemap.xml
And here screenshots of my Google webmaster:
    https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c163/menandar/WM_01_zpsjhn8hdvy.jpg
    https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c163/menandar/WM_02_zpsxmodosoy.jpg
And also I think this way images are submitted to Google as webpages, which I’m not sure if it is the correct way. But this is what happen when I try to render the galleries on the both sites:
    https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c163/menandar/WM_03_zpssipfdbjd.jpg
    https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c163/menandar/WM_04_zpssvhtghld.jpg

By the way the extra sitemap you see are generated with screamingfrog, as with this crawler I can pull some extra images.

It might be related to gallery implementation, if both themes rely on WP gallery feature. I’m curious to know why this is happening too.
