• I have a photo in each of the 5 available boot strap slider slots and each image is 1200 x 450 pixels. These are held, with other images, in the media library of my host 1 and 1. The images fit exactly and the ‘slide show’ works fine. There is a thumbnail of each photo in the menu of the boot strap slider on the left-hand side and each one is scaled down version of 1200 x 450 pixels – i.e., the ratio of the format is the same.

I have now tried to insert a new image from the media library to replace existing ones. These new images are also 1200 x 450 pixels but when loaded into the evolve template, at the location where the photo should be, is just a large square patch of blue space (the same width, but longer top to bottom to form the square) and the thumbnail on the left-hand side is also a squared image. For no obvious reason, the images appear to be automatically reformatted during import from the media library. Very confusing. I can see no reason why this should happen. I also tried loading existing images fro the library and the same phenomena happened.

I would be grateful if somebody could shed some light on why I have experienced this problem and either recommended a fix or point me in the right direction of where to search for a resolution. I haven’t modified my blog for a few weeks and have loaded the most recent version – wondered if the problem lies here or not?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards, Andy

    Hi Denzel

The web site is https://www.andysummersbey.co.uk – but don’t think this will help because I reverted back to the previous version of my blog – I didn’t want to publish it with the new inherent problem. Basically, in boot strap slider picture space number 3, when loading up a new photo, I would have only a large square area of blue colour instead of the new image. There is no obvious reason for this to happen.

    Thanks.

    Kind regards, Andy

    Hi,

There is nothing wrong with the bootstrap slider in my localhost installation.

This is why I need to see your issue via my browser, using developer tools to see if there is any clues, any script error or conflict with any third party plugin or custom css.

Apart from your current website, I suggest you setup a development website online so that we can help.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Sorry, I really appreciate your approach to help, but I don’t know how to set up a development web site (and suspect I wouldn’t have time to do so if I did).

I also found another fault. When I choose to limit the boot strap slider to the first page, then revert it back to all pages, it just disappears. I obviously simply don’t save and publish at each stage or else my blog would be obliterated.

I’m beginning to think I’ll have to swap to another template – which would be a shame considering evolve does everything I want it to do, and I’ve spent much time & effort in development.

    Thanks. Andy

    Hi,

I mean setting up a new website online, import your current site data and you can start developing this new site, do whatever experiment with themes on it. This is what I mean by a development website.

Apply changes to current website only after you have confirmed that it works on your development site.
This way, you will not mess up your current website.

In your Theme Options -> Bootstrap Slider -> Bootstrap Slider placement
Select Home page only, if you want the bootstrap slider to appear only on home page. Remember to save your changes. Then clear your browser or plugin cache before revisiting your site.

If you change it to “Manually select in Post or Page edit mode”, or “All pages”. Then you need to edit your home page, go to Slider Options: and select bootstrap slider. If you did not do this step, your bootstrap slider will disappeared like you mentioned. It’s not possible for Theme to do it automatically.

    Thanks!

    Hi

    Thank you for this.

I think that’ll be a step too far for me. Do you have any ideas what may be causing this and I could check within the template?

    Thanks again

    Kind regards, Andy

    Hi,

I changed the bootstrap slider to all pages and also have photos that aren’t loading properly. I can’t seem to find where to manually change the slider options…to select “bootstrap slider”.

Could you give me step by step how to fix please.

Working on website….it’s not live yet….

    Please help.

    Hi Dianne,

I am not seeing any bootstrap slider on your home page.

Did you manage to find the settings?

In Theme Options -> Bootstrap slider -> Bootstrap Slider placement

There are some related settings at end of WordPress admin -> Add Page or Add Post use this only when you set Theme Options to Manually select in Post/Page edit mode.

    Thanks!

I too am having the same problem. This is a total new site. I just downloaded the theme. I uploaded three jpgs (1200 x 450). In the upload site the thumbnail view is rectangular but the information shown when you click on the thumbnails confirms that the size is 1200 x 450. I went into the Bootstrap slider and deleted the sample image and uploaded the new image. It shows as a rectangle in the preview. In the slider itself nothing is there, just the gray background.

As a newbie I am sure I am doing something wrong. Can you suggest what I need to do to get my images to appear in the slider?

    Thanks

    Hi,

In Theme Options -> Bootstrap slider -> Bootstrap Slider placement check that it’s selected Homepage only.

Scroll down further, check that all your slides are enabled.
Enable Slide 1, Enable Slide 2, Enable Slide 3 … etc

That’s for setting up bootstrap slider for homepage only.

    Thanks!

    Hi

I use 1&1 Internet Ltd to host my blog and as a result of their help and support over the past 2-weeks, I now have a resolution. It’s a simplistic but effective fix. They investigated and recommended either clearing the cache of my present browser of all cookies, history etc or, using a different browser. I tried the former but problem remained. I then used Google Chrome instead of Microsoft IE and hey-presto! The problem has been sorted. I use IE for everything and it’s a hassle using another browser specifically for this issue, but at least it gives time to more fully explore the problem with IE whilst simultaneously maintaining my blog. It must be worth a try.

    Kind regards, Andy

    Hi,
My problem was also solved by going to Firefox instead of IE11.

Thank you all for your help.
