I’m not offended by black backgrounds with white text, but black backgrounds with shadows makes me have to squint my eyes and lean in close to the monitor to try to see the differnt textures. I can see that some sort of texture exists, but I can’t quite make it out so I have to study it closely. I don’t like that.

I think if you went with a flat background (not 3-dimensional), then you eliminate some of that.

the css wont load for my. iuno why. but ive seen your other work and im sure it rocks.

I think it’s a very nice design. Clean. Depending on the gamma settings on a person’s monitor, the different shades of gray/black may not be noticeable enough. I think it looks great though.

Thanks for the feedback so far – I went ahead and made the gray inside the content area lighter, so there should be a better contrast.

Not being a big fan of the dark themes, I do really like yours. It focuses on the content, without the white blink syndrome (where if you blink, all you see is the white text lifting off of the black background).

The colors are nice and neutral, and easy on the eyes.

The layout is great, too – everything’s easily accessible.
