The development team on the site I’m working on customized Smooth Slider so that it doesn’t include the “Read More” link. This worked fine for years. However, when I updated the plug-in, the “Read More” came back, apparently surrounded by its own margin or padding. We were able to remove the “Read More” text, but not the extra space. It’s added a rectangle of white below the image that interferes with the rest of the page. Can anyone suggest a fix? Thank you.

  • Hello @lifeboatb

    Thanks for writing to us.
Go to Admin panel => Smooth Slider => Settings => Basic Settings Tab => Miscellaneous => Custom Styles => Enter below CSS

    .smooth_slider p.smooth_more a{margin-left: 0px !important;}

Let me know if it helps.
If still problem persist, then please send us a link where slider is embedded. So that we can look into issue.

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,
    Sagar.

Thanks a lot for the response! Unfortunately, I tried it, and it didn’t fix the issue. The developer has a different theory about the problem than I do: he says, “the issue with the white below the slider is because the slider is extending down below the box. i’m not sure why — there is a min height setting, but no max height so it’s not clear how the height is getting set.” He wondered if you had a suggestion about that.

    re: link
The site is password-protected, so I can’t post the link, but here’s a link to a screenshot–I added some green arrows pointing out the white-box problem.

Thanks! I’m looking into whether I can get permission.

Hello–I emailed you a few days ago with the password at the team address email you gave. Hopefully you got the message. Today the developer mentioned something else that I thought could be useful:
“The slider is getting a height assigned through the javascript that comes with the plugin. If you turn javascript off it gets the correct height.”
    FYI. thanks!

Hi–I sent you another message on Sept. 3, but didn’t hear back. The last code you sent me to try out didn’t work, so I gave you temporary access to our site–were you able to look at it?
    thanks!

    Hi,
I’m trying to do the same thing, eliminate the Read More button area and padding. I’ve gotten rid of the button but padding remains. The code you provided did appear to eliminate the space in the settings preview, but did not accomplish that on the slider page.

    Thanks for any assistance.
