How can I test for the Current Language?

  • Hi,
    I am in need of a way to determine the current language code [‘en’, ‘fr’, ..] BUT apparently am unable to find a way out. What I did come across is a function named ‘language_attributes()’ but it returns some HTML code instead of a value which can then be assigned to a PHP variable.

    Hope this will be an easy fix and I will get a quick response?
