Can Not Log In to WordPress iPhone App with iThemes Security Installed

I have the latest version of iThemes Security as of 8/25/2015. It works great on my laptop.

PROBLEM: I newly installed the WordPress app on my iPhone and cannot log in.

ERROR: Unable to find a WordPress site at that URL. This is when I enter the full URL in the app WordPress login field for “site” to point to the special login page URL of my choosing (using the “hide login” feature of iThemes.

If, instead, I just enter mywebsite.com/blog/ then it gives a 404 error on my phone.

I have tried turning off the 404 feature in iThemes. No change.

I have tried turning off various xmlrpc iThemes settings but no change.

I do have the “hide login” feature on. I have tried turning it off. No change.

I do have a /blog/xmlrpc.php file.

The help feature on the iPhone for the WordPress app directs me to look at the source code to see if I can find “xmlrpc”. It is not in the source code on either the default login (e.g. mywebsite.com/blog/wp-login) or the “hidden” login page with the special URL. It is on non-login pages.

On my laptop, I try to look for the xmlrpc.php file and it give a 404 error:

I have tried this on another site I have that does not have iThemes Security installed and it gives back the desired response of “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.”:

I checked and my server does have XMLRPC turned on.

How can I tweak iThemes Security to let me login to my phone WordPress App?
