Set access by custom taxonomies on custom post types

Say i have an FAQ section that is password protected. How can i make sure that all new submitted questions(custom post type) inherit a specific access level?

I tried setting up access on question categories(custom taxonomy) but it doesn’t work. It seem that you should be able to assign access to the category and it would apply to all questions, but it doesn’t work.

Any idea hot this can be accomplished ?
