Hi Helen, if I understand correctly you want to be able to send a link to someone that automatically selects and highlights a particular area? I think we had trouble implementing that on some browsers so that feature isn’t in the plugin right now.

Can you tell us which browser and which Draw Attention layout you’re using? Thanks!

I am using IE 11 on a Windows 8.1 PC with the light box layout. I also viewed it in Chome and the highlight did not appear. Since this would be on my website, I would like it to work with common browsers. I am a librarian and plan to have a list of collections and would love to have a direct link that would show where that collection is in the building.
I would like to also use it in our online catalog to highlight a location of an item — the link in the catalog would link back to an image that would live on my server. Please let me know if I would need to upgrade my license to do this.

I guess a way around this is to take a screenshot with the area highlighted and link to that image. Not as elegant or easy as the URL.

    Hi Helen,

We’ve had a couple of requests for this feature, and it looks like we’ll be able to get that included in the plugin next week, closer to the end of the week.

    Yay! You guys are terrific!

    Hi Helen!

This feature was added in with our release today. You will now be able to link directly to one of the hotspots.

I’m sorry but I am having the same results after updating the plugin. The image displays but the hotspot is not highlighted. I tried it in both IE11 and Chrome ver 44.

Hello Helen – Can you please send a link to the page?

    Here is a link:

    https://www.sawyerfreelibrary.org/first-floor/#hotspot-hotspot-5375-21

This hotspot should highlight the Byers-Davidson Room and the Muzzy Room that appears in the upper left-hand corner of the image.

I think I see a problem. I had Draw Attention and Draw Attention Pro both installed. The update was processed for the Draw Attention, but not the Pro version. I deleted the Draw Attention version, and tried to update the Pro to 1.5, but it doesn’t update. I tried deactivating and re-activating, but no go. ?????

Hi Helen, if you go to Draw Attention > settings/license do you have your license key entered there? If so, go to your Dashboard > Updates menu and click the “check again” button.

If none of that works, log into your account at https://tylerdigital.com/my-account and you’ll be able to download a copy of pro 1.5 ??

This is still a problem. I have a valid license key (I even replace the key from the info on My Account just to be sure), and Dashboard > Updates does not update the plugin. When I try to upload the new version I get this message:
    Destination folder already exists. /data/11/0/125/125/777614/user/796081/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/draw-attention-pro/

I could delete the existing plugin, but I don’t want to lose the work I have done so far. Please tell me there is another way.

Nevermind — I guess I didn’t realize I had to authorize my domain url in My Account for the update to work. Now I am on version 1.5

Sorry this has been so problematic for you. You can go ahead and delete the plugin and install the new version you have (don’t worry, none of your images or clickable areas are deleted when you uninstall the plugin, they will all be there when you install and activate the plugin again).

I am curious why your site isn’t seeing the automatic updates, if you send us an Admin login to [email protected] we’ll log in and take a look for you!

Oops our messages crossed paths, glad it’s working now ??
