I’m working on a new site and for some reason the Widget won’t display any of its movie data. It used to work, but suddenly stopped. The Shortcodes still work inside the posts, so the plugin appears to be pulling the data correctly. The Div tags are present, but the content inside them is missing. What could I be doing wrong?

That’s weird. When I try it on my website, it all works fine. Can you show me a screenshot of your IMDb Connector settings and the ones of the movie widget?

I’m new to the WordPress support, how can I show you a screenshot? The settings are all left at default. I’ve tried turning off caching, deactivating, re-installing. When I check the database, the Widget doesn’t seem to pull data. At least, there’s no data for the movie I’m testing in the widget.

You can take a screenshot by going to the site you want to capture and hit the key labeled as “PrtSc”. It’s usually on the top right of your keyboard. After pressing it once, nothing won’t happen. Open the Windows tool “Pain” and press “CTRL” and “V” simultaneously. The screenshot should appear. After that, save the image as .png or .jpg file format and upload it https://postimage.org/.

Very weird… I’ve added some debug infos to the widget. Please download this file and extract it into the folder /wp-content/plugins/imdb-connector/widgets/ (backup the original file before). Then try to display the widget again and tell me if you see #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5 text messages.

I didn’t replace the widget file yet, however, I did turn on WP debug and received the following notice where the widget output should reside.

Notice: imdb_connector_get_movie is deprecated since version 1.3.2! Use get_imdb_connector_movie($id_or_title, array $options) instead.

Yes, I changed the function name in the widget file that I’ve uploaded as well. Please try it and see if everything works correctly.

That did the trick. The data shows and so do your #’s.

I’m glad to hear that. I’ll release the updated plugin version in a few minutes. Please update.

Thanks. Its late in Bangkok and I’ve never received support like this from any developer, anywhere, anytime . . . I’m pretty grounded in Joomla!, starting to cut my teeth on WordPress, but seriously, thank you for your time and effort, you’ve made my life easier!

You’re very welcome! If there’s anything else I can do for you, you know where to find me. Oh, and maybe a review would be helpful ??
