What if you delete this plugin

  • This plugin sounds very interesting. I like the idea of protecting certain settings without changing user roles or permissions.

    If you have some plugins archived and then you deactivate yours — or delete it — what happens to the archived ones? Do they just go back to their normal state as they were before archiving? (In other words, as activated or not.)

    Do archived plugins still alert you when updates are available? Do you have to de-archive them first?

    Final question — Does this play well with Plugin Organizer?

    Side note: I’d like to see something similar to selectively protect, lock, or backup widgets. They’re too easy for clients to mess up. Maybe for your next project????

    Think of The Hack Repair Guy’s Plugin Archiver as a drop box, the purpose of which is to store stuff (archive it).

    Archiving means, well, the files are archived into the dark recesses of your website.

    WordPress cannot see them (nor can hackers wandering by looking to exploit them (hint).
    Short answer: When you unarchive you may update if you wish.

    I see no reason why The Hack Repair Guy’s Plugin Archiver would in any way affect Plugin Organizer.

    Ahh, widget protection… Interesting. Nice idea!
