• I want to know how the Read More break will look before I publish a post and can’t find a way to do it. Draft posts do not show up when I preview the main page.

Or rather, I know one way but it’s cumbersome, which is to set the status as Privately Published and then the post appears on the main page.

Draft posts do not show up when I preview the main page.

Is that a limitation of your theme? I would pursue resolving that to show draft posts, because the other direction is going to be more difficult. The other direction being, making things inside your Edit Post area look like they are when they have been published.

Are you asking, have I tried any other themes to see if they allow me to see the drafts?

    Two questions –

1 – I couldn’t tell if you were implying that drafts normally should be visible and so it would be a flaw (or some odd decision on the part of the designers) in my particular theme. Can you clarify? It does seem to me like draft visibility would be the default for more or less all themes.

2 – I’m hesitant to try a different theme since I customized mine with a child theme, and also a few changes in the parent (which I know you’re not supposed to do but learning how to put these changes in the child is not an option now) and I’m afraid I’d lose the customizations.
