• A strange problem cropped up last night on my blog: when someone leaves a comment with a web site in the comment information form, the comment shows up without a name — just a blank space where the name should be. This problem was applied retroactively to past comments. Any ideas?

    Follow-up and clarification:

    1. When logged in as a blog author my name displays fine on comments I leave. I note that I cannot click on my name for those posts. Don’t remember if I ever could before.

    2. When I log out and I post using another name, and don’t leave a web site in the comments form, it displays the name without a problem in the resulting comment.

    3. When I post using another name and a web site in the comments form, it displays with the name field black. “says” is improperly hyperlinked. If I left-click on “says,” the properties show the web site I left.

Further note regarding the problem: in the most recent comments widget on the right, all of the names of commenters display properly, including links to web sites for the ones who posted web sites.

I’m seeing this same problem. If my commenter leaves their email address and URL, there is no name shown in the comment. If I edit the comment and remove the email address, the name will now show up.

The first comment, from Cecily, shows up because I removed the email address she left. The second comment (Test) is one I made with an email address and website URL. No name shown.

    Help?!?!?
