Div width / text wrap

Hey! I’m using Crelly slider as part of a theme and I am trying to edit a text element to be a text block. The CSS works fine when I’m designing it but when I hit live preview, it shows me the paragraph of text without any wrapping.

Here’s the CSS I’m adding to that particular element:

word-wrap: break-word;
background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.6);
width: 350px;
padding: 20px;

I’m a little new to such advanced web design so I’m hoping you can help! I’m working on getting a couple of screenshots here using dropbox.
