    Hi,

I’m using the feature to block anyone who tries to log in as a particular username, but I’d just like to know a bit more about how it works.

Mainly if the names in the list have to match exactly to the attempt, or if its just if it contains the name. For example, I’ve got ‘Admin’ blocked, would someone trying to log in as ‘WebAdmin’ also be blocked? Or would that have to be another entry?

    Hope that makes sense!

    Thanks

The names do have to match exactly — in your example, if you block “Admin”, then “WebAdmin” would still be allowed to log in, if that was a real user.

Usually you won’t need to add too many names here, but it can help if you see the same ones over and over — then any valid names they try afterward will still be blocked.
