Event Form Submissions – Anonymous Users

    Hi,

    I have an Event Form Submission page, for which I have slightly customised the template (I didn’t want the example event title to be ‘Birthday party’, etc).

    The form works well in theory, but I’m having two distinct issues:

    1) Anonymous submission is set up/enabled, but when an image is uploaded with an anonymous submission, it returns ‘You do not have the rights to manage this Event.’ The event is saved as a draft with no image uploaded. If this is relevant, anonymous submissions are not published automatically and require manual approval.

    2) After submission the success message does not show, even with ‘Show form again?’ set to no – it just returns the paragraph I have added to the top of the events list and nothing else. However, the URL in the address bar includes ‘success=1’.

    Thank you for this great plugin, and I hope you can point me in the right direction as to where the issue may be (bearing in mind extremely limited developing experience!)

    Hi angelo,

    I have version 5.6 of EM installed.

    Do you have “upload_event_images” checked for the submission account under Events > Settings > General > User Capabilities?

    Hi there,

    Yes, “upload_event_images” is ticked for the Subscriber level in the EM User Capabilities (as suggested, submissions by non signed-in users are assigned to an ‘anonymous’ Subscriber account).

    just to confirm, did you already tried with an admin account and it works perfectly?

    Hi there angelo,

    Good point. Image upload does work on the submission form when I’m logged in as admin. However, when I submit an image that’s approx 400KB, I get ‘The image file is too big! Maximum size: 204800’. I tried another that was 70KB and that was fine. Is there any way to increase this limit?

    However, the problem with the success message remains even when logged in as admin – it simply doesn’t show.

    Image limits can set under Events > Settings > General > Image Size.
