Ads not shoowing in Ads Place on Posts Page

  • Hi minimus and everyone,

    I’m sure I’m missing something simple here, and wondered if you could help me out.

    I have an ads place for the sidebar and there are three ads in that place.

    The problem is that the ads aren’t showing up on the posts page – the ads place just shows the default ad (a placeholder about how to advertise).

    Here’s the posts page:

    But the ads are showing up fine in that same ads place on posts and on other pages, like the ‘about’ page:

    I’m sure it must be something to do with the settings but I’ve looked through them all until I’m cross-eyed and can’t see anything!!

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Or any suggestions where to look?

    Thank you for responding Minimus,

    I already checked that, but checked again just to make sure I hadn’t missed something.

    In the sidebar ads place, for each ad…

    under ‘general‘:
    ad weight is set to 10

    button ‘show ad only on pages of this type’ is checked

    – then every box under that is also checked except for home page (home or front page) … and on this site the posts page (where the ads aren’t showing) is not the home page, we’re using a static page for the home page.

    under ‘extended restrictions‘ – all boxes are unchecked

    Could it be that it is still treating the posts page as if it was the home page?

    What theme are you using? Some of the templates using their own loops and, therefore, behave unpredictably. Check the environment (is_single, is_home, etc.) with the help of the plugin “Query Monitor“.

    Theme is ZeroGravity (by Galusso) … I don’t know code but I installed Query Monitor and checked (using the drop down from the top navbar) … under ‘environment’ it just says is_home … so does that mean it is being treated as the home page?

    What to I need to change to fix it? (in baby steps please… I don’t know any code and am quite new to wordpress)

    Bad news! On my test site ZeroGravity works properly. Maybe it is result of incorrect work of some installed plugin. Consistently deactivate each plugin and each time check the result of the deactivation. It is common practice in such cases.
