Short Code causing comments box to appear on home page

I am using the shortcode on a static home page. The strangest thing happened. The site is in development and not released to the public yet. I only have about 5 posts so far. For the first time on this site I clicked the check box in the post edit screen to allow comments for one particular post. I never clicked that box on any of the posts on this site yet until now. When I allowed comments for this post, the comments box appeared on the home page. It appeared on the actual post like it should, but why is it when I click this check box the Post Slides shortcode also includes the comments box on the home page? I confirmed it is the Post Slides short code doing this because when I delete the short code the comments box on the home page goes away. When I add the shortcode again the comments box comes back. I need to prevent this from happening.
