  • Hi,
I am having a similar issue. I can type in the fields but the content shows up progressively slower. Once I hit submit the entire website starts to function very slowly; rev slider, hover, scroll, navigation, etc.

Same issue on firefox only worse.

Works fine on Chrome and Opera.

    Thanks

This is could be due to a JavaScript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins you are using – see Contact Form 7 Email Issues – there is a link there that covers JavaScript Conflicts.

Problems occurring on only some browsers or devices is relatively common with JavaScript Conflicts.

    Hello Davmerit,

    Thank you for this advice.
I went through the article but the problem I have is that the plugin works correctly on chrome and firefox but not on safari.
From that fact, I assumed that it was not a conflict issue between the theme and the plugin but a browser compatibility one.
    Isn’t that possible?

Not really – it’s far more likely to be a JavaScript Conflict.

You may try a step by step approach to finding JavaScript Conflicts

    1. Switch temporarily to a WordPress default theme (Twenty Eleven etc.) and see if the problem goes away.

If it does, you’ve most likely got a JavaScript conflict with your current WordPress theme.

If switching to default theme doesn’t help it could be one of the plugins you are using that is causing the problem.

    2. Disable all plugins other than Contact Form 7

If doing that solves the problem, you can then add back each item – one by one, until you find the real cause of the problem.

Can I use this contact form and not send email. We want a form that the user fills in and then clicks and goes to a link. We would like to keep track of who is viewing our content on specific pages

@tombocq, I hope this goes without saying, but make sure you quit Safari (?Q) and restart it before concluding it’s not a browser problem.

@jason Hendricks, I didn’t really understand what you meant by before concluding it is not a browser problem? To me it is one since it works correctly on chrome and firefox. Could you please be more specific?

@davmerit thanks again, will try that and let you know the results I get

What I mean is, sometimes i’ll see a problem, like slow performance, but quitting Safari and restarting solves it.
