UpdraftPlus: what is Remote path for FTP direct to laptop – help please

    Am a newbie to WordPress, have installed UpdraftPlus Premium and wanting to backup using FileZilla direct to my laptop (Windows 7).

    Assuming this is possible directly,
    1) what do I put in “Remote Path”?

    and if not,
    2) what is the step-by-step (no steps skipped) way of doing this?

    Please help.

    Hi,

    You’re confusing FTP clients and servers… FileZilla is an FTP client, for accessing remote FTP servers. It is not an FTP server which you can send backups to via FTP.

    Thanks. So for the sake of clarity for newbies your link would read something like,

    1) Making NO changes to “Settings”, press the “Backup Now” button on the UpdraftPlus dashboard.

    2) When the backup has completed, click on the “Existing Backups” tab, (the download will use your current WordPress connection) and download the backup from there.

    i use cpanel as my FTP client how do i get the remote path that updraft requires??
