Product Descriptions Not Showing Up in Structured Data.

  • Hello. I’m trying to understand why my product descriptions do not show up when I use Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool.

    Case I:
    If I create a product and input the product details in the “Product Short Description” field and fetch the URL, then the “description” field shows up.

    Here is an example product I made if you wish to test it with the structured data tool: https://regalities.com/product/woocommerce-test-product-b/

    Case II:
    If I create a product and input the product details in the “Product Description” field NOT the SHORT description field, then my product description does not show up when I fetch my URL using the structured data testing tool.

    Here is another example product: https://regalities.com/product/woocommerce-test-product-a/

    If you fetch each of these items using the structured data testing tool, you will notice that item A doesn’t have a description tag, but product B does.

    So here is my question.
    [1] Should I be exclusively using the product short description field when describing my products, and disregard inputing information in the product description field?
