Menu not working properly

    I’m having problems with my menu and I was planning a launch tomorrow (Monday).

    If I go to Appearance–>Menu and create my own menu placed in the header area (the only area you have) all of the buttons/text disappear. If I disable the menu there, then I cannot add only the pages or categories that I want included. This is a main feature of WordPress that I must have.
