I moved my blog address to my root directory which already has an .htaccess file, and when WordPress attempts to write to it it seems to cause a 500 internal server error throughout my whole site.

My htaccess file already has important code in it that I added to prevent hotlinking from my domain.

When I look at my .htaccess file after the error occurs, it has this:

    # BEGIN WordPress

    # END WordPress

without anything inside, bellow my other code. What is supposed to be there? Do I need to add something to stop the error from occuring?
