• I am in the process of moving to a new hosting company. I checked a bunch of post here on the forum and nothing seemed to fix my issue.

I have the blog runnning here:
    https://www.sixtiescinema.com

I move the db and the files over and updated by wp config with the appropriate info. Here is the link to the temporary URL for my site at the new host:

    https://158.85.51.196/~sixtiesc/

It is not finding the blog. Will this be fixed when I change the nameservers to point to my new site? Or am I missing something?

Is this the guide you followed:

Yes – but the instrucutrions for:
Keeping Your Domain Name and URLs

are very light – but what I did essentially is:

    1. copy over all WP files from root
    2. create new db and user on new host – db name ended up being slightly different.
    3. Edit config file with new db name
    4. import db

This is where I am now – with the error.

Have you pointed your nameservers to new hosting provider?

Bear in mind that it can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less) for DNS/nameserver records to fully propagate if you’ve just purchased or transferred a domain name. Second, different networks will update at different times during this period, so you may need to get in touch with them for more details. That is, bear in mind that just because one provider has updated their records, it doesn’t mean that another will.

I have not updated my nameservers – I didnt want to do this until I fixed the error. Unless the error is caused by not updating the nameserver.

You can discuss this with your new hosting provider.

But, i believe you need to update your nameservers
