You have been locked out due to too many invalid login attempts.

  • Hello, my website has been acting weird ever since I manually transferred it over through FTP to a new hosting account on. I try to login into my website and I get this error “You have been locked out due to too many invalid login attempts”.

    Even though I am logging in with the correct information, and I am logging in for the first time. However, seldomlyI will be able to login for either short bursts of time or for a few hours, depending on the day. But eventually, my site tries to log me out and force me to login in again. When I do this, I get that error, “You have been locked out due to too many invalid login attempts”.

    Please help.

    This happens when someone else is actively trying to access your account using your username.

    Whether you know it (shared login) or not (unauthorized access), you should consider hiding the login page.

    This can be done with free and premium (iThemes Security) plugins.
