Website not updating

Can you please share your website url?

Which method are you using to make changes? By public page do you mean homepage or landing page?

I’d love to help just need more details to point you in the right direction.

I am attempting to complete some basic edits (i.e. changing a few words), yet when I “update” the page, the edits are not uploaded to the live site.

I can see the edits if I “preview” the page, but the changes are not evident once I log out of wordpress and view the page

If I log back in, the edits are still there (so they are being saved)

Have you tried clearing your browser cache? If the changes are showing up on different devices then it’s likely the issue.

Another question is are you using any caching plugins?

Updates are not showing up on any device or browser.. so presume not a cache issue

Re plug ins… unsure if any of them are chaching (how do I find this out?). have 11 installed but only 2 active. I have deactivated these 2, and still no success

What plugins do you have installed? This sounds like a caching issue and disabling the plugins might not be a solution in this case.

I’m having the same issue. Changes I make aren’t showing up. Should I try unstalling and reinstalling the theme? If so, how do I do it?

Are you making sure that you are publishing and saving the edits you are making after you preview changes?

OK, Let’s do the troubleshooting.
1) First deactivate all the plugins to see whether this one resolves the problem or not. If this one resolve your problem then fine; otherwise reactivate the plugins one by one and check your site thoroughly after each reactivation.
Currently your active plugins are:

Custom Facebook Feed
Mappress Google Maps For WordPress
Mailchimp For WP
Font Awesome
Background Manager
Slideshow Jquery Image Gallery

2) Switch to default theme to check theme issues.
3) Reset your custom Permalinks back to the default setting. For that login to your dashboard->Settings-> Permalinks and select default and click on save changes.

Thanks for all the suggestions…. I’m afraid it was a fairly basic issue!!

For some reason under settings the website link was set at dev.perthtriclub.com.au ?? (I think this was the test site that was set up when developing the site?) – so any changes were being uploaded to the dev. site and not the www. site (I presume..)

I swear I had done some updates to the site about a month back with no issue, so I am wondering if the settings reset themselves….

Anyway, this may help a novice IT person in the future ??
