Facebook dashicon not available

  • I have tried to use dashicons to display a facebook icon. I believe it worked (I think i saw it working) but now it won’t display at all.

    I have checked the Dashicons Developer Resource and the facebook icon is listed: https://developer.www.ads-software.com/resource/dashicons/#facebook

    BUT, when I view the header include file: /wp-includes/css/dashicons.min.css there is no mention of the facebook dashicon.

    Now, this would explain why it is not showing BUT – I am wondering why it is listed in the Developer Resource as being available yet it is not catered for in the WordPress core theme files?

    NOTE: I just checked /wp-includes/css/dashicons.css and I can see the facebook declaration BUT this file is not included in the header – only the .min version is, which doesn’t have the same declaration?
