URL ending /page/1 for blog recent stream broken

I have upgraded to wp2.3.1. I use one of my static pages for my front page. I add new posts which I used to link to the stream of recent blog posts using a URL that ends in “/page/1”. I called this link “News”.

Alas since the upgrade “/page/2” still works, meaning I can jump off the front page to 10-20 posts back in the news log, but not to the most recent 1-10 posts. The url “/page/1” redirects back to the front page.

Here is my URL if my description is all too confusing https://rosacea-support.org – note the link to News at the top goes to https://rosacea-support.org/page/1 which used to work dandy, but worketh none more.

Any help or suggestions welcome.
