I have one particular post on my site, where if I don’t change the default url slug, that post will load as my blog page. However, if I change the default url (even just by one letter), the post will load just fine.

And it’s not a matter of redirection or of the slug being taken by another page/post. The URL doesn’t change – it’s just that the blog/posts page gets loaded instead of the particular post.

I would link to the page to show you, but I fixed it by changing the URL slug and then redirecting the old slug to the new one.

Just wanted to throw this out there, because the plugin has always worked great for us, but this particular issue is definitely caused by the plugin (disappears when I deactivate the plugin).

+1 I am also having this exact issue. A particular post, with an unaltered permalink, shows the home page instead of that post. Disabling Custom Permalinks stops this from happening.

From looking into this further, it seems to be a conflict that happens (in this case) between a page and a post with similar urls.

The broken blog post was at this url, with no custom permalink (just the wordpress default) set:

https://ourworldindata.org/fertility-can-decline-extremely-fast/

However there was also a page at https://ourworldindata.org/fertility that *did* have a custom permalink. Notably, it did not have a slash on the end. Changing it to https://ourworldindata.org/fertility/ appears to have fixed the post.

I’m still using it, yep! Adding a slash to the custom permalink worked around the issue for me, though I would still consider this a bug in the plugin.
