We use qtranslate-x and have a SEO related question. Our domain is tri lungual

    domain.com/nl (Dutch)
    domain.com/en (English)
    domain.com/de (German)

This all works fine but we do not want domain.com to index because the content is on the subdirectories (/nl, /en, /de) The dutch meta title and description is now on domain.com and domain.com/nl and we think that is a disadvantage for SEO.

Someone knows how to handle this issue?

  • It is disadvantage if you don’t index .com so you need to pick default language in your case dutch and don’t worry about it if you use yoast it is best to use latest github updates(for yoast seo and q-translate) so you can easily submit all 3 sitemaps to google.

About seo thingy i had some stuff that crossed my mind to make a .com static page for example english_us and add english_uk or something so that way you index 4 languages and you get what you desire but hurting your .com will probably give you more disadvantage than points.
