    Hello,
I’m using the free version of Evolve theme, and set up the home page with the slider options and custom boxes using the evolve customize admin, viewing the slider and customization boxes as I set their options. Then, in wordpress Settings > Reading, I designated a static page as home page, selected the default template on that page, and selected full width and slider type in the page options. None of these options are taking, I’m still seeing the sidebar and it looks like it’s displaying the first post, with breadcrumbs, neither of which are supposed to display on the home/front page. I double check to make sure that “a static page” is selected in the wordpress settings, and it is, and I also see “front page” listed in the page list for that “home” page. If I go into the evolve customize screen, I can still see the slider and custom box options that I designated for the home page, but they no longer display. My only template options are Default Template, Blog, and Contact. I’m also using polylang, and have an alternate language page set up as well. The only plugins activated are polylang, redux framework (req’d with theme) and akismet. Please help!

Hi Denzel. It’s local, but it’s a polylang thing. I disable polylang, and I see the big, beautiful home page. I enable it, and it looks like a blog post page, with sidebars, breadcrumbs, etc, no slider, no full-width as specified in page options. I even checked the spanish page to make sure that that was specified the same way, and it is, but, as long as I have polylang enabled, it’s no good. I’ll try to follow up with a better search, and will post any solutions I find, but I’m going to leave this open, not sure if I can edit the subject to include polylang, I’m adding it to the tags.

Thank you for sharing these information!

    Here’s how I fixed it:
I went into the settings tab in polylang, and checked:
The front page url contains the language code instead of the page name or page id
