• Hi guys,

I am considering setting up my personal profile/portfolio page and since I have international clients, it should be bi-lingual.

What would be the best way to implement this? A friend of mine told me to set up a WordPress multisite installation with sub-domains or sub-directories. Is that something that you would also see here?

Thanks so much … little bit stuck right now.

    Philipp

  • I would also recommend what your friend suggested, sounds like it would work just fine!

OK, so I would have to install Multisite and then mirror the websites and afterwards translate? Is that about right?

What is the common practice for mulit-lingual sites? Rather subdomain (www.english.domain.com) or rather subdirectory (www.domain.com/en).

I remember that there are plugins for multi-lingual sites or sometimes even themes. How do they compare do the Multisite setup?

    Thanks so much,

    Philipp

    Each method is equally effective.

I’d recommend sub directory as that would be my preference, but sub-domain would also work.

Plugins might be an easier way, it’s all preference really.
