multisite link problem

  • Hi,i have multisite installed on sub.domain.com,when i try to create another multisite the domain for new multisite is sub.sub.domain.com .I want to be sub2.domain.com not sub.sub.domain.com . On domain.com i have put the html file with intro,i don’t want to make domain.com base of multisite. Please help me,its second topic that i open here after the fist was without somebody with one rispons.

  • Are you trying to create a multisite within a multisite? Otherwise just add a new site in Network Admin/Sites/Add New and name it sub2

    If you installed your main WP multisite at sub.domain.com, then WP will generate 4 part subdomains: sub1.sub.domain.com, sub2.sub.domain.com, etc.

    If you want to change this behaviour you can install the Domain Mapping plugin. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

    Then every time you create a new site, you map the domain to the name you want. e.g. sub1.sub.domain.com -> sub1.domain.com
