    Hi,

Thank you for the wonderful plugin.

I have enabled the option to “Immediately lock out invalid usernames”. I think it is working perfectly. However, on an average day, I get over 30 emails (bunched in periods) that user locked out (when using non-existent user ids such as webmaster).

My question is whether this (number of attempts) is normal? The requests seem quite spaced out (1 or 2 in an hour).

    Cheers,
    Ramesh

Yes, this is fairly normal. Some sites may get many more users locked out each day, as well.

If you see some of the same IP addresses getting locked out often, you can also block them permanently on the Blocked IPs page.

If you start getting far too many emails and don’t need to know about each one, you can also set the option “Maximum email alerts to send per hour” to a reasonable number, on the Wordfence Options page.

Thank you Matt. Now I have one less thing to worry about. Appreciate the additional settings information you have provided as well.
