• I have only 2 levels, a monthly membership and an annual membership but when people sign up they dont seem to be given one of these levels.

example, if they sign up, under ‘Users’ Membership level displays None, if I click on that user Membership current level shows None.

Also, under memberships and then member list, that user is not listed.

    please help

  • So just to clarify?
you have 2 paid memberships to choose from..

When they signup, does the payment go thru and the member then gets access?

Also ensure the link you are using goes to YourSite.com/membership-levels
    and not to YourSite.com/register

I had a similar problem and found members where signing up via a /register option which gave them a level of None

Yes, just 2 to choose from.

They payment has gone through, but I dont think they have any access, they havent complained yet, only been a few hours, but the Users and Memberships seem to suggest they wouldnt have access as it doesnt display the membership they have selected.

PMPro v1.8.6.3 was just pushed out, which includes updates to the error handling of IPN requests. Please update and read the instructions here about how to test your IPN.

    https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/2015/10/pmpro-update-1-8-6-3/

The post above goes through a couple of common IPN issues that have come up and solutions for them. If after updating and trying those solutions you are still having trouble, please post a follow up here with as much detail as you can.

Thanks for your patience with this. I hope this update fixes things for you. If not, we can still work with you to get your installation fixed.

Hi, I updated and someone joined, unfortunately I have the same issue, they were not assigned a membership.

I am suddenly having the same issues. The IPN notices are going out, but PM Pro is not giving access, and I am having to do it manually now? This started about 2 weeks ago, but since the newest update, my IPN notices are still not being recognized.

I have another plugin that uses IPN notifications, and that plugin is working perfectly, so it is specific to PM PRO and not my host/website is appears.

FYI some users who were experiencing IPN issues since 1.8.6.2 were getting 403 errors from PayPal. A fix for this is included in 1.8.6.4 that just went out and could fix the issues you are having.

Let me know if you are still having issues after upgrading to version.

Thanks again for your patience. There are actually a few different bugs that we have been fixing. So these updates will have fixed it for some users, but not others. It’s important that we hear from folks that aren’t fixed by the updates so we can explore their setups/etc to find what else might be going on.

Hi, thanks for the reply, unfortunately its still not fixed.

2 new users yesterday and neither assigned a membership ??

is there anything I can provide that can help you diagnose the problem? as its a major flaw.

    thanks

This will help. Enable PMPRO_IPN_DEBUG in wp-config.php

    define('PMPRO_IPN_DEBUG', true);

Then test a new checkout. You’ll get an email with the debug data from PayPal. Copy and paste that into the thread (be sure to scrub out personal details).

There should be something at the bottom near an “INVALID” response that will give me hints to what error is causing the issue for you.

    (@coleburg)

Did it have to be in a certain place? I’ve added it and someone just joined but no email received with debug info ??

    [ No bumping please. ]

    Plugin Author Jason Coleman

    (@strangerstudios)

The fact that you didn’t get an email tells us a bit. Are you sure your IPN is working? Some debug tips here: https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/2015/06/troubleshooting-paypal-ipn-issues-with-paypal-express-paypal-standard-or-paypal-website-payments-pro/

    (@coleburg)

So, do I need to pay $97 membership to read that?

I did receive an email from paypal, showing that they had paid and the recurring payment was set up, there was just no debug email.

    (@coleburg)

please can you answer this soon as Im going to have to move back to previous membership plug in if this does not work.

    thanks
