Updating Databse

i have recently changed the URL on my website by removing the /wordpress at the end, i have moved all the fgiles to the root directory and edited the wp blog-header.php file, and i still got no results, i contacted my host and they told me that the tables in my database are referring to the old URL instead of the new one, any idea how i can update my database?
