• Hi there,

And old system we’ve inherited had a custom theme (as far as I can tell, it was based on thematic) but it didn’t have an index.php – somehow in the past it had been activated and running on the site. Recently when visiting the themes page in the admin area, WordPress detected that it was incompatible because it was missing a template file and switched to one of the other themes by default so the site is now missing it’s proper styling.

I’ve tried copying the index.php script from thematic but essentially I just want this to work as before. If there was no index.php before, was it inherting from a parent? And if so, is this possible to mimic with a new index.php file?

If I can provide more information let me know!

    Thanks

If it had no index.php file before, it had to of been a child theme of Thematic (or something at least).

If you install a whole copy of Thematic, but keep your desired theme active without the temporary index.php file, does it work again?
