Logo change

  • Hello,
    Please reply in laymen’s terms…
    I paid a young man to build me a website, he used wordpress as he gave me login details for addmin etc. I can log in and over a period of 2 years I have added and deleted pics. Now with a slight business change our name is Profile Signs & Laser. Instead of Profile Signs & Cladding. In the Media section there was a PNG file called logo2.png
    It was a logo I supplied the young man. I have deleted the original file (logo2.png) and replaced with a new logo of same size with the changes ie (Signs & Laser)and uploaded to the media section. I called it logo2.png and clicked publish. I figured if the original was no longer there then it would use the new one!!!!!
    BUT MAYBE I WAS WRONG!!!!
    Could anyone help with this, the young man is nowhere to be found.

  • why are you replace logo ? you have may be theme options in admin section you can easily upload from that. or paste here your header.php file code so I can check logo comes from where.

    But as far as I’m aware version 3.5.1 does give these options in Theme. I cant upgrade to new version as it asks me for a Password in which the young man who did the job only knows!!!

    Yes i just check your site but just he changed theme folder name so i am not able to check, But please check your Email i just send, So i will help you more.

    Your logo comes from here:

    https://profilesigns.com.au/wp-content/themes/profile-signs/images/logo2.png

    Means go to Wp-content -> themes ->profile-signs ->Images/logo2.png

    remove that logo completely add same name logo.

    let me know its working fine or not

    Hi Ahir,

    Thanks again, I went into Go Daddy – web hosting – file manager.
    and found what you were talking about. So went through and got to “images” in root files. found logo2.png and deleted it. I then uploaded new logo2.png file. after checking website with still no change, I went back to see if there was some sort of area to “Update” or “save” this change, but there is not. (that I can see)
    so I got onto go daddy help and tried to find out more to no avail
    GoDaddy state that website should change immediately after upload.
    but still no luck. I have double checked the new file. and also cleared cookies and cache. just in case.
