1.7 is throwing a fatal error

I think that this error is because you may have a version of PHP < 5.3. Could you do a phpinfo() and check?

I’ve been meaning to add something to throw a more descriptive error.

I just updated the plugin to 1.7.1, which should alert with a nicer error and tell you your PHP version, assuming that’s the problem.

WordPress advises 5.6 or greater: https://www.ads-software.com/about/requirements/

Let me know how it goes, I want to make sure everyone who wants to can use the plugin.

We’re running WordPress 4.4.1 with PHP 5.4, which is as high as GoDaddy will let us go at this time. However, I’m getting a similar error as before, but now on line 35.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/11/7744311/html/preview/wp-content/plugins/12-step-meeting-list/12-step-meeting-list.php on line 35

I’m able to activate it, but then every page chokes out with this error. With refreshing, I’m able to get back to the plugin page to deactivate, so that’s cool.

Are you seeing this error anywhere else?

Hmm!!! I’m stumped because it does sound like a < 5.3 error, since it’s pointing to an anonymous function aka closure. I think the easiest way to fix this will just be to remove all these, I’d say there are probably only 20 or so. I’ll do that and let you know, won’t take too long.
