installed 4.3.1 today and now site url / wordpress url not working

  • i updated my site today to the new version of WordPress and now my site is not working properly. In the general settings i have wordpress url set to https://www.bobdylancommentaries.com/dc and site url as https://www.bobdylancommentaries.com. That used to work but now it doesn’t. Instead when i go to the site i see the old theme that was installed at the root.

    I set this site up a long time ago. I do notice that at the root at some point i renamed index.php to indexold.php, which makes me wonder if i need to change that somehow. Maybe something “godaddy” specific?

    Any of this ring a bell with anybody?

    another related question. since my wordpress url is set to https://www.bobdylancommentaries.com/dc – shouldn’t the wordpress files have been updated in the /dc folder? judging from the file dates,that’s not the case. it seems to have updated the wordpress files at the root.

    I highly recommend keeping both of your URLs the same to avoid this kinds of issues. I;ve seen all kinds of problems arise because of the URLs not matching.

    To fix this, move all your files into the main directory, and then export your database into a .sql dump file. Do a search and replace on https://www.bobdylancommentaries.com/dc and replace with https://www.bobdylancommentaries.com. Save an import this back to the database (after dumping all the tables of course). This should fix your issue.
