How to not have photo caption included in the excerpt when sharing on Facebook

Hello everyone,

When attempting to share an article on Facebook, I notice the excerpt is including the caption with it.

Is there a way to prevent the caption from displaying in the excerpt when sharing on Facebook?

It would be nice to be able to control what is being excerpted from the article.
