I have bought a website from someone and I would like to transfer everything into my name and the account. How can I do this and keep the same domains name the same?

    Thanks

  • I think you should be able to go to the server hosting account and simply change all the contact, profile and payment info for the account and for the domain registration. However, you might check with the host to be certain the info you can access there is the entirety of what they have on file. I once had a problem with a previous owner being sent a notification e-mail I had needed sent to me.

just go into your Domains and set the name servers to the default name servers.
If you are using a WordPress.com (the .COM is important) then you need to point your name servers to WordPress.com’s name servers. See:

Who did you buy your website from? They’ll know which hosting providers you need to contact – otherwise try using a ‘whois’ tool (that you can Google) to find the website’s hosting providers.

We don’t have any information about your website.

Here at www.ads-software.com, we just provide, develop, and support the WordPress software. We aren’t a hosting provider or a domain registrar.

Your site is hosted with HostGator: https://www.whoishostingthis.com/?q=v8volvos.com

Their support is available at https://support.hostgator.com/

According to a WHOIS search, your domain is registered with eNOM (a popular domain reseller) and according to https://www.enom.com/help/default.aspx your domain registrar is actually Google Domains.

Their support is available at https://support.google.com/domains/

The person who sold the site to you will need to either give you login details for their hosting and registrar accounts, or they will need to start the transfers for you.

James Huff- Thanks for the help I will look into to this

The person who I bought the website had the website built from him, he doesn’t have the details of the account.
