English site on root / and translated on subdomain.

Hello, I have a wordpress multisite configuration. My main site is the default root domain https://www.xxx.com but I have different langues, portuguese and spanish on subdomains: es.xxx.com and pt.xxx.com
The automatic redirection works great on the translated versions, but for my main version, the english one on the main domain https://www.xxx.com, it doesnt work. The page wont load.
Any ideas?
