Unable to update user nickname, display name

Created a user but discovered I was unable to change the ‘Nickname’ or ‘Display publicly as’ fields unless i disabled the plugin. Running pro version. We’re looking to assign bidder numbers and may want put them in the nickname field and display that instead of the usernames.
