I accidentally deactivated my Jetpack plugin as I was experimenting with site migration to a new domain. When I reactivated, all my stats were gone. Can you please help in reinstating this?

    url: antitravelguides.com/

I am not ready to go live with my new site just yet but when I copied it across, my dashboard(s) asked if I had just moved my site. I wasn’t sure why it was asking, but now I am guessing this was Jetpack. Is this the reason why? To move the blog id associated with the old domain onto the new domain?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

It was indeed Jetpack. Since you migrated sites and changed domains, Jetpack wanted to know if you wanted your old set of stats to remain associated with the old URL, or be moved to the new one. It seems like you pick the first choice, thus creating a new set of stats for your new site.

I’ve now merged your old stats into the new site, so you should be all set!

    Perfect. Thanks so much Jeremy!

Hey Jeremy, I’m hoping you can help me again.

It might be that all I need is an explanation, but when I now go to connect Jetpack from my new domain (which, incidentally is backstreetnomad.com) it gives me an error saying unknown client id.

I imagine it is something to do with my problem earlier but not sure if this is because I elected the first option or because the stats are now merged into the new site from your earlier resolution.

I am about ready to go live with the new site so would like to have it connected with the old stats, change the name as it appears in my wordpress.com account and such. But it sounds like this is how you set it up last week? Essentially I’d like to leave the old domain in the dust so that everything appears like it’s on the new domain, except with the legacy stats. Is this possible now?

What if I was to deactivate Jetpack on my new domain and reconnect?

    Thanks again.

I’m sorry, but I’m not sure I understand anymore. Could you give me more details about your future site setup? Where will your site live once you go live? Which domain will become the primary address of your site? antitravelguides.com or backstreetnomad.com?

If backstreetnomad.com becomes your new site address, I’ll need to undo what I did last week. I had understood that antitravelguides.com was your new site.

Apologies for the confusion. Sorry about that, blame my explanation.
My site will live at backstreetnomad.com in the near future. I plan to have 301 redirects on all antitravelguides.com pages/posts to send visitors to backstreetnomad.

Let me know if you need any other info.

    Thanks again.

Alright. That makes sense. I’ve removed the changes I did last week.

Could you get back to me as soon as the redirects are in place, and I’ll move the stats once again?

when I now go to connect Jetpack from my new domain (which, incidentally is backstreetnomad.com) it gives me an error saying unknown client id.

Could you try to deactivate and delete Jetpack again, through the Plugins menu in your dashboard, and then upload and install this small plugin?
    https://i.wpne.ws/doye

Once you’ve done, you can load one of your dashboard pages once, and the small plugin will delete all Jetpack options that may be left in your database. Then, deactivate and delete that small plugin and install Jetpack from scratch.

Let me know how it goes.

Ok, all redirects are now up (I hope).

I’ve uploaded and activated the plugin, clicked through a few dashboard pages, then deactivated and deleted.

Then I installed Jetpack, activated but have not yet connected to WordPress.com.

    Thanks.

Alright. I’ve made the necessary changes. Could you try to connect now?

Looks good Jeremy. Thanks so much for your help. Should I now deactivate Jetpack on Anti Travel Guides?

Sure, you can deactivate Jetpack there.

Jeremy I’m so sorry. I got that prompt again in my new site backstreetnomad.com and it looks like the connection has reset.
I am guessing I logged back in before deactivating it in my old one.
Could you please reconnect backstreetnomad.com to the existing, historical account?
Rest assured I have deactivated Jetpack in antitravelguides and hope to never log in there again for a long time.
Thanks again – really appreciate your help…again.

    Could you try reconnecting again?

Disconnected and reconnected on backstreetnomad.com. Not sure that worked. Still showing blanks on the wp.com dashboard.
Is there any way I can do this from my end if I had the blog id?

Let’s try that again. Could you try reconnecting once again? Let me know how it goes.

I’m afraid that won’t be possible, as these settings are stored on WordPress.com.

Thanks again Jeremy, that did the trick.

I’ll try not to wreck it again

    Cheers
