I recently designed a webpage based on WordPress “twentytwelve” for our Youth Red Cross section. Therefore I already used The Events Calendar and was quite happy about usability and everything.

Now I am about do design a new web-presence for our local non-profit sports club. Therefore I installed WordPress with “multipage”-funcionality in order to give every sports section an own landing page. I decided basically for “Yoko” as theme and worked on the styles very hard now(it isn#t hardly the yoko theme any more…).

nonetheless i figured out a severe problem of the events calendar plugin: it doesnt show the events of other multipages. it doesnt even show the events of the main page within the multipages, so i would have to enter them 18 times…furthermore this was not the task: i wanted to collect the dates of all sections in one database. does anybody know, where to find and connect the dates within my sql?

    greetings,

    peter

Hi. I’m not sure I understand what issue you’re trying to report.

Maybe you could provide some sample links that should but do not work.

no, i am simply asking, why “The Events Calendar” doesn’t work on Multipages: every subpage installs its own event calendar subdirectories for each entry and there is no option to pull the data and collect it to a central calendar. i ask: why!

    greetings,

Are you asking about a WordPress Multisite network of sites?

No, the plugin doesn’t support aggregating multiple calendars into one “network-wide” calendar.

However, you might be able to pull something like this off by finding the iCal feed for each site’s calendar and using https://theeventscalendar.com/product/ical-importer/ to aggregate all of them into 1 calendar… just a thought.

sorry, this seems not to be applicable: I am working there in a non profit organization, and I don’t want to be stuck to such services; to be forced, to search (daily or at least often) for new events on every of the 18 subpages…

i already found another plugin that does the job quite well.

there was another option if you want to stay with “The Events Calendar”: i tried two days ago a multisite-plugin, that allows to copy any page, comment or content to be copied to selected subpages:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/multisite-post-duplicator/

in addition to events calendar, it could be a solution: during entering a new content of any kind(page, content, commentary and also the events) there is a new toolbar at the right side(where you select save, publish, categories, parents…) with checkboxes for every subpage you want to copy the new entry to; also for the events. for me it was only not suitable, because I made already all my entries on my main page, and it caused duplicates though…but if you enter it for the first time, it should be ok.

    greets,

    Hey Peter,

Sorry to hear The Events Calendar won’t work this time for your site, but hopefully you can use it in the future ??

    Best,
    Nico
