In the admin area while editing a post
I have quite a lot of users that manage to switch the language of the current post thinking they are switching to editing the other language posts.They click the dropdown and select ie. Danish thinking they are now gonna edit the Danish version of the post. Instead they have switched the language of the post to Danish.
Does this make sense?
My suggestion
I suggest that we use the same UI method of hiding the dropdown as the post status (ie. Draft, Waiting Approval, ..). Perhaps hiding the dropdown should only occur on previously saved/published posts and not new posts.This way we can quickly change the language of new posts but not allow users to switch the language by mistake on already saved/published posts.
It should clear up some of the confusion as to what the dropdown does.
