• I’m in the first hours of my first try of WordPress, and the installation was a breeze. However when I try to access the link manager I get the following error:
Parse error: parse error in /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-admin/link-manager.php on line 747
    …any ideas?

Further to this problem, I also receive the following when in Options > Link Manager:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_option_widget() in /var/www/html/collectible/wp-admin/options.php on line 134
    ???

Thanks, Beel – I’m not sure what else to add. When I’m logged in as an admin, I get those errors whenever I try to access the Link Manager options. I assume the Link Manager is where you control what appears on the Blogroll…

Have you hacked link-manager in any way? What is on that particular line? As for the undefined function, that too is a quandry as options.php specifically includes optionhandler which contains the function. Perhaps you should re-upload those three files just in case one or more got trashed.

Thanks for your help – everything is functioning fine. I hadn’t hacked the link-manager. It was corrupt php files.
What I did was unzip the Word Press files on my Macintosh and then uploaded them to the server. It looks like the Mac unzipper corrupted some of the files in subtle ways, as it was working okay with a few exceptions. I did a clean reinstall from a PC unzipped folder, and it looks like I’m in business…
    Thanks again.
