Error, once ive reinstalled

  • Hello there,
    I had a problem uograding using fantastico and then reinstalling the back up.
    What I have done is put back all the files from an old back up and then used using myphp imported my old sql database ( it said it was succesful)
    Ok so now i figure that everything should be back to exactly the way it was when i made the back up a month ago……but it doesnt seem to be working….I get this error messege
    Error establishing a database connection! This probably means that the connection information in youn wp-config.php file is incorrect. Double check it and try again.
    * Are you sure you have the correct user/password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?
    Im not sure what i should do next?
