how to track sign-ups in Google Analytics?

I’d like to track newsletter sign-ups in Analytics, but it looks like Goals require a bit of Javascript in the submit button.

Is there a way to add this code to the button that the plugin generates? If not, would it be possible to get this as a feature in the future?
