SEO and YOAST

    I purchased PRO version and Im setting up a page dedicated to this plugin. My page is full of facebook posts andd it works/looks great.

    When I goto to configure the SEO for the page with Yoast the Yoast plugin is not recognising any of the keywords amongst the FB page feed in my site. Do I need to do something else that shows yoast is able to read the content from the FB feed plugin?

    I would like to ensure that my page is ass SEO optimized as possible. I would have thought that considering this plugin writes the FB content in the code of the WP page then Yoast would be able to pick up on it.

    Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

    Hey Angus,

    I’m guessing that the reason the Yoast plugin doesn’t automatically pick up the words in the Facebook posts is that our plugin renders the Facebook feed on the front-end of your site, whereas Yoast runs in the admin section. Our plugin uses a shortcode to display the feed and this isn’t run in the page editor of the admin section, it’s run when the site is loaded on the front end. The Facebook posts themselves aren’t stored as content in your WordPress page, but just the plugin’s shortcode is, so all Yoast sees when it examines that page is the [custom-facebook-feed] shortcode. When the site is viewed and the page is returned from the server then WordPress renders the shortcodes into the Facebook content and embeds it into your page source code, and so users and search bots see the Facebook content, however, as Yoast works in the admin section then all it sees it the shortcode when trying to pull words from the page.

    Let me know whether that makes sense, or if you need further clarification at all.

    Thanks for you reponse. It did make alot of sense.

    Yoast is now picking up all the words from the plugin as if it was text o the page and registering it.

    Maybe it just needed some time to re-read the page etc.
